A Perfect Dog Walk - Written by Akhami
My name is Akhami. I am a very well behaving, nice girl. I enjoy going for walks. A really good walk must be full of adventures. My Mom says that every walk with me is an adventure. She loves me, you know.
There is nothing like a nice deep puddle, it really turns me on. I love treading in mud, feeling it among my fingers. And water with a taste of mud, it really is something! My colour changes and I become even more beautiful, all brown.
In a walk, it is also necessary to find a nice dog perfume. I love fishy odour very much, but such used engine oil is also lovely. My Mom always shouts at me and drives me away from such a dog perfumery. I do not understand why.
I am a big huntress, but I have been forbidden to hunt. I may hunt only birds and squirrels, but these fly too high. Although I am a very clever and intelligent girl, I run only on the ground; I can run really fast, however it is not good enough for bird or squirrel hunting (well, maybe once… or twice… but let’s change the subject.) So I at least monitor squirrels in the trees.
I do enjoy just lying down in a meadow, producing chips from a piece of wood. I have tried to produce chips also in our living room from our rattan furniture, but I was scolded. What a pity. A perfect material. My Mom is really very nice, but she does not understand some things. Maybe if she tried it once by herself….
Oh, I love meeting friends. We may chase each other and it is a great fun.
When I return home, I usually play a little bit with my Daddy, and then I have a short nap.
If we manage to do all that in our walk, I have a feeling that life is really beautiful. In spite of the fact that sometimes, my Mum puts me in a shower and washes off all perfume and mud from my nicely decorated coat.
